ACTIVITIES AND JOBS AT UNIPARQUE
UNIPARQUE
will be work in a new model of partnership between the State, the private
initiative and the civil society, aiming at the joint management of Brazilian
protected areas. As a center of professional training and excellence,
the University won't submitted to the legal requirements of the Ministry
of Education and to academic formalities.
UNIPARQUE
will be economically supported by the charge of services provided to visitors
linked or not to educational Institutions and also by making accords,
partnerships and providing services for other institutions with the participation
of the local community. It is predicted that some of the courses for the
local community will have to be subsidized.

SERVICES:
- Open
courses in the environmental, tourism, lodging and leisure areas, besides
other themes related to regional interests;
- Room
and board;
- Continuos
monitoring of PETAR's resources, stimulating the creation of new alternatives
of visitation, and the constant maintenance of public places. Besides,
the signs and information available will restrain the damage to the
area. With that, we hope to have an ordered visitation, increasing the
number of tourists in a positive way;
- Providing
infrastructure and logistics for developing educational and scientific
projects and ecotourism, and providing services that are economically
and ecologically sustainable;
- Partnerships
with educational institutions, will make it possible to turn its area
and buildings into an "advanced campus" where these institutions
may put in practice their field researches and educational programs
related tot he environmental area;
- Promoting
guided, and "outdoor sports" activities, at a Sports and Adventure
Center;
- Consultancy,
orientation and institutional backup for the local ecotourism agents;
- Providing
space so that industries and businesses may promote their researches
and products compatible with the ecological sustainability (ecotechnical
products);
- Creating
a visitor center, where the local artistic and intellectual production,
as well as documents and objects belonging to the local culture and
ecosystems will be catalogued and available for consulting and research;
- Coordinating
thematic study groups, lectures, debates, etc.
- Elaborating
publications and didactic and teaching material;
- Building
up a data base destined to support studies, researches, etc;
- Accomplishment
of accords for developing researches and projects in partnership with
PETAR, regional Municipal Parks, teaching institutions, NGOs and public
and private institutions in general;
- Providing
consulting services by guides and specialists.
